Contrary to prior reports Wayne Rooney will not be out for 2-4 weeks rather a more manageable 2-3. Speaking at Carrington this morning Sir Alex Ferguson told the assembled media of the good news,

“It’s not as serious as it looked at first. He will miss important games but he’ll be back in two to three weeks. It’s always worrying when players have to go for scans but the results are good. There’s no bone damage. Everyone wants their best players available. The nation can breathe again. We’re relieved, it could have been worse.”

Although he will miss big matches like tomorrow’s and the return leg against Bayern Munich, he could very well play against Man City on April 17th.

In other injury news, John O’Shea and Owen Hargreaves have both been training well and one of them could even make the bench ahead for tomorrow’s crunch match with Chelsea.
