Call me bias but there was never going to be another choice, Wayne Rooney has been named PFA Player of The Year for 2010.

Rooney won the award ahead of Didier Drogba, former team mate Carlos TevezĀ  and Cesc Fabregas after stepping up his level of performance this year. Although it looks like a groin injury has ended his season he has already scored an impressive 34 goals including 26 in the league.

He was also named in the team of the year along with Patrice Evra, Antonio Valencia and Darren Fletcher. Congrats to Wayne and the rest of the boys that were acknowledged for their efforts this season.

PFA team of the year:

Hart; Ivanovic, Dunne, Vermaelen, Evra, Valencia, Fabregas, Fletcher, Milner; Rooney, Drogba
