They have done it with so many of the players we are ‘looking’ at, it’s getting boring.

It seams Manchester City lacks an independent transfer strategy. One wonders why they keep on going for players that are linked to Manchester United. They keep on buying, wasting talent and dumping players. A case in point is Roque Santa Cruz, who was on the brink of joining United form Blackburn when City pounced. They took him to the Eastlands, only to let him rot on the bench! Many other players like Giorgio Chiellini, Simon Kjear, David Silva, Neven Subotic, Angel Di Maria, Luca Modric, James Milner, Jack Rodwell … to mention but a few, have attracted City’s attention just because they are linked to United! Of course not forgetting how City’s influence pushed Babertov’s transfer fee to 30.7 million pounds. Is that competition? I just can’t imagine how a team with solid intentions of challenging for EPL and CL can really be tied up in such local rivalry all the time, letting it influence all their decisions! It’s because of this that City will take really long before securing the EPL or even playing in the quarter finals of the CL. United on the other hand seams not to be bothered by City’s desperate kicks. They look to secure players who can bring them glory.
