Forza Roma are reporting that we are set to beat a host of clubs including Roma, Inter and AC Milan as well as Arsenal to the signature of Greek wonder kid Sotiris Ninis.

Reportedly a deal of £9.6m has been agreed between us and Panathinaikos for his signature and other news sources including The Mirror are running with the story too.

I’m still sceptical but this isn’t old news as the MEN spoke of a deal way back in April. I guess we’ll just have to keep an eye on this one.

I like how the English again fail to do their homework and want to write off the Greek NT as being hopeless and give it a poor chance of success in Euro 2012 due to Ninis’ injury.Sure hes a great player but firstly he should be back in the team soon and secondly the English reviewer doesn’t seem to know about Feftfatzides, Mitroglou, Vlachodimosand Kapino (g/k) to name but a few.

There is a whole new breed on the way who will outshine the 2004 team. They need time to gel and acquire experience. Coupled with Santos’ positive approach to play more attack minded football I believe Greece finally has a chance to do in football what it has done in European basketball. That is to be a force to be reckoned with.

I don’t see the English talking much about basketball. It’s not like they don’t play, they are just crap, but nobody goes around slating their teams the way they do! The English appear to have a real bonner for slating Greek teams in every sport , or maybe its just my imagination.

I believe this new generation are different and not could have beens like so many before especially Fetfatzides. Maybe I am wrong but I believe this youngster will be amazing and even better than Ninis. Now that Ninis is back from injury I guess we will have a clearer picture, it’s been all Fetfa so far. But also don’t forget another danger man lurks in the background, Kostas Mitroglou. If Greece come up against England in any match this is the man I would like to see get off the bench and silence them with his devastating fire power!
