With the storm caused by Sunday’s game still raging, the thing that sticks in my mind was the lack of killer instinct we showed.

We could have had a couple goals but what could have happened and what did happen are two different things and personally it’s time to face the future and who better to come up against than West Ham?

Currently with no points and a bleak future to look to this could be a confidence building exercise. People have been massively impressed with Chelsea running up cricket scores against sub standard teams so here is a chance for us to flex our muscles, bare our teeth and really get stuck in.

If fit, it would be a perfect opportunity for Rooney to open his account for the season and end this huge drought people have been harping on about as well as the team in general to put on a better performance than they did on Sunday. It may be wishful thinking to expect us to put 6 past West Ham but I do expect a couple of goals.

Although early in the season Chelsea are getting a head start on building up their goal difference and it would be a hindrance if this became a monkey on the teams back so the best way to counter it is to get some goals ourselves.

This may seem arrogant and insulting to West ham but they really are a team with problems and we couldn’t face them at a better time, I just hope our player realise this and take advantage.
