Understandably news is slow as it is international week but making stuff up just isn’t acceptable!
So shame on the person who cooked up the story that Fernando Torres is a potential £40m transfer target for United. Liverpool’s current problems on and off the field are the backdrop to this story but as bad as things are down on Mersey side, it is very unlikely that they would sell him to us or that he would even agree to join us.
Add to that his perenial injury problems and it is even more unlikely. That other team from Manchester were also linked with him so perhaps they can have him.

What a joke. Reports such as this make me wonder if it’s even worth reading transfer rumours when fiction such as this is published.
This story is just like the story on de-overrated (de gae), neuer, buffon, and any other gk…pure rubbish wrote by the media with not an ounce of truth to them, the only player Sir Alex has expressed an interest in is the ever-brilliant Ronaldo v.2- Alexis Sanchez who we should buy in january, world class playmaker and a great lad- worth every penny (£17m) and is destined for greatness.
Only recently Torres stated that he would never sign for United out of respect for Liverpool fans. But, then Ronney has also said that he would stay at United for life.
