The physio room at Old Trafford must be a very nice place as it appears that we have a couple of long term residents.

The 3 weeks quoted for Wayne Rooney’s ankle injury appear to have been short of the mark with Sir Alex today stating the striker may be out for longer now. He will be in good company though as Michael Owen’s hamstring injury looks like it will have him out for four to five weeks according to Sir Alex.

Owen was just returning from a groin injury when he did his hamstring, the same hamstrings that have troubled him through his career.

More bad news on the Owen front is that Owen Hargreaves is also some way off a return. It was claimed he would be back for the game against Wolves this past Tuesday but a calf injury prevented this with Sir Alex saying: “He was making very good progress when he first came back but that seems to have stalled a bit and he is back with the physios now.”

Some good news though Giggsy is back in training on Monday after injuring his hamstring against West Brom.
