There was to be no giant killing at Old Trafford today as Wes Brown’s header put an end to Crawley Town’s FA Cup run.

It took United a half hour to break the deadlock when Brown glanced Gibson’s cross past Kuipers yet Crawley weren’t to be disheartened and they threatened to upset the script with a number of half chances and even hit the bar in the last minute via a looping header.

With wholesale changes made from last week United were ordinary for large spells of the game whilst Crawley were your typical under dogs looking to cause an upset but it wasn’t to be.

United go into the draw for the 6th round to be made tomorrow.

Hats off to crawley, they played well.
Bebe and Obertan didnt play the best, would have been good to see King or pogba get on.

only thing this game highlights is that there are some players in the current first team that are clearly not good enough, the reason we are not playing to our usual level is cos we are carrying a few players.

There were definitely some performances to forget today namely the wingers but I think by his standards Gibbo was decent, showed some good passing.
Smalling was magnificent today snuffing out threats before they developed

I thought that Obertan and Bebe were poor. Gibson and Carrick were largely over run. If we accept that Gibbo was decent by his usual standards, then he is simply not good enough.

I was disappointed that we didn’t see some of the younger lads. At least they would have shown some hunger.
