Having scooped up Ryan Tunnicliffe and Scott Wootton on loan last week, Darren Ferguson has made another move for a united youngster.

Nicky Ajose was a revelation last term on loan at Bury scoring 13 goal in 28 appearances for the League 2 side as they were promoted into League 1.

His exploits brought the 19 year old attacker to the attention of numerous clubs and it was thought that he would go on another season long loan. Norwich, Leeds and Middlesborough were all linked with moves for him but Peterborough have stolen a march on them all by thrashing out a £300k deal to bring him to London Road permanently according to Sky Sports.

Ferguson will now need to convince Ajose to agree terms before a move to London Road can take place and he can join up with team mates Tunnicliffe and Wootton.

£300k seems rather cheep to be honest. I would have thought a deal worth a £1 million was appropriate. Maybe we have negotiated a percentage of his future sell and a buy back option is included.

i dont understand this at all. why sell him. whats the point of following the reserves and youth team if they will never get a chance to make it at united

I don’t like all this nepotism going on between our club and Fergie Jr. It gave us a complete black eye last year and there’s scant evidence Darren is even a good coach.

I guess it’s good that we keep a core of them together; but would rather it were somewhere else to be honest.
