Having had a starring role in United’s win over Barcelona in America on Sunday morning, Nani is ready to turn his attention to this upcoming season.

The winger was one of United’s stand out players last season and was voted the player’s player of the year but Nani himself feels he has more to offer and is ready to take his game to the next level this term, something that doesn’t bode well for a league that was terrorised by the Portuguese man last year,

“Now I am feeling confident for the new season and I hope to do my best and help the team win trophies.

“I will try to take my game to the next level. I will try to do my best. I want to do much better than last season and now we must wait to see how that happens.”

It is felt the return of Antonio Valencia had a detrimental affect on his performance and at times he found himself out of the team with Valencia being the preferred option but this is of no concern to Nani who accepts the decisions made and instead wants to focus on this coming season,

“I am always very confident. I didn’t lose my place to Valencia. The last two or three games the manager made his decisions and, of course, you have to respect this.”

Nani is a dangerous player as we saw with Barcelona, put him on the ball and he can make things happen. Last season he continued showing the talent that made us splash out on him back in 2007 so if he thinks he has another gear to go into, we could be in for a treat as his exploits last year in terms of goals, assists and overall contribution was something to behold.

Nani was sensational against Barca, a great goal and great all round performance. I have high hopes for him this season, he can be even better than last season.
