Manchester United took to the field against Aldershot today with the humbling defeat against Man City fresh in their minds and produced a professional result to progress to the Carling Cup quarter finals.

As expected Sir Alex fielded a much changed side, as he normally does for Carling Cup ties, blending youth with experience and allowing those who need minutes to get them.

Vidic, who looked a tad off the boil against Otelul last week, started along side Phil Jones in the heart of defence with Zeki Fryers again starting, this time at left back, and Fabio on the right.

Tom Cleverley returned from the injury he picked up against Bolton at the start of the season in midfield and Dimitar Berbatov played his first game in nearly a month after last appearing against FC Basel.

The Bulgarian looked hungry to prove his worth and got his name on the scoresheet  in the 14th minute after some neat passing between Cleverley and Park.

He then turned provider laying the ball off to Michael Owen who carried on his fine goals to game record and an Antonio Valencia cracker sealed the game after the break.

There was time for Paul Pogba to make another performance in midfield as well as Michael Keane and the precocious Ravel Morrison to make their first team debuts (zero touches against Wolves doesn’t constitute a debut!) too as Aldershot battled bravely but ultimately in vain.

Thanks for your post. I would like to comment that the cost of car insurance varies widely from one insurance policy to another, since there are so many different issues which bring about the overall cost. By way of example, the brand name of the vehicle will have a large bearing on the fee. A reliable aged family vehicle will have a more affordable premium over a flashy expensive car.
