The praise for Manchester United’s burgeoning talent Phil Jones continues to pour in as Spanish legend Fernando Hierro insists he can go on to become world class.

Jones has been earning rave reviews since joining United from Blackburn for £16.5m and has already earned 3 England caps off the back of his performances.

Following his performance against Sweden earlier this week, England manager Fabio Capello likened the 19 year old to Hierro as well as Italian great Franco Baresi.

And Hierro, who won 5 league titles and 3 Champions League trophies with Real Madrid, has faith in Jones ability too.

“I know Jones very well. He played for England against Spain last summer in the Under-21 European Championship and was very impressive.

“I was there and said that England had a serious talent.

“Sir Alex Ferguson would not pay so much for him if Jones was not a great talent.

“If he keeps evolving the way he is he will be world class.”
