Possibly one of the most worrying thoughts as a United fan is what will happen when Sir Alex retires.

Whilst some have a ‘we will cross that bridge when we get to it attitude’, history has shown that these things are dealt with better when prepared for.

Names have been offered up both domestically and internationally, and whilst some names appear more frequently than others, Manchester United winger Nani has a firm idea of who should take up the role in the future.

Speaking during BetFair‘s live interview yesterday lunchtime, Nani stated:

“It would have to be someone who can keep the quality high like he has. It would have to be one of the best in the world like Guardiola and Mourinho.

“It would have to be a very top coach. It’s not easy doing what he’s done at this club.”

Earlier this week Sir Alex endorsed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a long term replacement but Jose Mourinho is a name continually linked with the position.

I’m not keen on Mourinho to be honest. He is a character but not the type of guy I see managing Man Utd. I think ideally we would get a British manager, but maybe that’s just me. Guardiola has done a fantastic job at Barcelona and should never leave to be honest. However if he does I just wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up like Rijkaard.

I personally would like David Moyes, who has shown himself to be capable to building a football club. He has done a terrific job at Everton with limited funds at times.

Everton have consistently done well during his rein. His record with signings over his 10 years are very good with guys like Cahill, Arteta, Nevile, Fellanni, Baines, Pienaar, Howard, Lescott and Jagielka. However what has also impressed me is his commitment to the youth and he has introduced Rooney, Rodwell, Coleman, Osman, Anichebe and Barkley to the first team.

Moyes also did a great job at Preston at a fairly young age as well.
