Rio Ferdinand claims Manchester United will approach each of their remaining games as cup finals, in an attempt to retain the Premier League title.

A lacklustre United left White Hart Lane with all 3 points yesterday even though Tottenham enjoyed large spells of possession. Ferdinand put in an excellent shift at the back along side Jonny Evans and was a contender for Man Of The Match in a game that spelled the end of a tough run of fixtures.

United have now picked up 22 out of 24 available points and with the massive tie against City creeping closer, Ferdinand insists United’s sole concern is taking points despite performance:

“All we have ever said is to keep putting points on the board.

“Our last two away games have shown the professionalism in the camp and that has been fantastic. We have to continue that.

“We have big games coming up. Each game will be like a cup final. I know that’s a cliche but it’s true.”
