The striking situation at Manchester United is pretty fierce, and even before the season has ended it has claimed a victim as it has been confirmed that Dimitar Berbatov will be leaving in the summer.

With Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez all vying for a place up top, you would be forgiven for forgetting about Michael Owen.

The striker hasn’t played for United since November, only his 4th appearance this season, and whilst many thought he would be on his way out of the club last summer it is almost certain this season will be his last at the club.

But he thinks otherwise and is determined to prove himself at the club in order to get another contract at Old Trafford:

“I still think I have another two or three years but where that will be is a question that the manager would be better placed to answer.

“I am in exactly the same situation I was last year.

“Regardless what happens, you will never hear me grumbling about the privilege of playing at a top club like Manchester United.”

One response to ““I am in exactly the same situation I was last year.””
