There is a growing list of players said to be on their way to Manchester United this summer, but according to his agent Kevin Strootman isn’t one of them.

The Dutch midfielder joined PSV last summer and was linked with United in the later part of the season after impressive displays for Holland and his new club, but his agent Chiel Dekker has told the Sunday Mirror that a move to Manchester United or Inter Milan, another club said to be interested in acquiring his services, just doesn’t seem feasible at the moment:

“Inter Milan and the player? At the moment there is nothing concrete.

“Manchester United? The same. Personally, I find it rather difficult for him to leave the club because he only arrived last summer and has a five-year contract.

“The boy is not worried at all and is just focused on his work for Holland. Eventually, after the Euros we will see what might happen.”

I’m not sure we don’t need a destroyer in midfield, as much as some people think we do. We need intelligent players who keep the ball better and ensure we are attacking more. If we get technical players like Kagawa, and maybe Hazard, then we would achieve this result. Carrick is a top holding midfielder and should be utilised as a deep lying playmaker.

    Valencia Carrick Kagawa Young

    Hazard

I’ve heard rumours about Hazard, Kagawa and Powell, but an interesting name this week was Jose Bosingwa who is now available for free. We do need another option at right back and Bosingwa could provide an experience option for us alongside Rafeal. I would say that for a free transfer he would be worth a 2 year contract, similar to Michael Owen.

I’ve seen Jose Bosingwa play right back, left back and centre back for Chelsea this season alone. I think we could do with that versatility in our squad as well, especially in the defence. I think there are more pro than cons for an experience defender available on a free transfer.
