Whilst the future of prospect Paul Pogba is still uncertain, it hasn’t stopped Manchester United legend Paddy Crerand from professing his admiration for the player.

Pogba is apparently on his way out of Old Trafford, with Turin his likely destination, as Serie A champions Juventus believe they have lured the midfielder away.

But as things stand he is still a United player, and Crerand has nothing but praise for the French teenager.

Pogba made his first team debut this season against Leeds in the League Cup at the start of the season, and was given a number of run outs for the first team including a promising showing against Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League.

Despite the offer of a contract from United, there has been no news in regards to a contract extension leading to a surge in reports claiming the midfielder is on his way out of the club but Crerand believes he has a bright future regardless, as he told the MEN:

“I think he’s absolutely terrific.

“The things being said about him as a midfield enforcer are fair. He’s a Patrick Vieira-type player, but I think he’s got a bit more about him than Vieira.

“That’s saying something because I was a big fan of Vieira. I thought he was magnificent, but I think Pogba has got a bit more.

“It sounds crazy to say it, but I think Pogba is a bit cleverer as a player – and Vieira was a very intelligent player.”

One response to “‘He’s a Patrick Vieira-type player, but I think he’s got a bit more about him’”

  1. Great loss to United but no one player has ever been as big as the club….we have seen bigger and better players leave….as they say once you leave OT the only way is down…except perhaps Ronaldo.
