Angelo Henriquez believes he has to improve as a player before he can consider playing first team football at Old Trafford.

The young forward completed his move to Old Trafford last week, but was immediately admonished by the Chilean u20 sporting director who believed the 18 year old should have stayed at Universidad De Chile.

Fernando Carvallo claims Henriquez was too hasty to move to Europe but the striker is well aware of the task he faces making it at Old Trafford and it sounds like a challenge he is relishing.

Speaking to Radio Bio Bio, Henriquez said:

“I’m training and looking to get an opportunity.

“There are many things I have to improve to reach the level of Manchester United forwards.

“I won’t ask to be given some minutes and nor will I pretend I’m better than I really am.

“I have to go step by step. I have to adapt and improve physically.”

Henriquez is expected to turn out for United’s reserves tonight as they face Stalybridge Celtic and he will be looking to impress alongside fellow new boy Alexander Buttner as well as Darren Fletcher who is continuing his fight for fitness.

  1. This boy is going to go very far from the youtube videos I have seen of him. His skill, pace, and natural flair for the game will be useful for Man Utd.
