Cristiano Ronaldo is a complete player according to Sir AlexWith a tie against La Liga champions Real Madrid in the Champions League looming, Sir Alex Ferguson has labelled former Manchester United superstar Cristiano as a ‘complete player’.

Ronaldo missed out on the Ballon d’Or to rival Lionel Messi again this week, but got on the campaign trail again with a hat trick against Celta Vigo in the Copa Del Rey.

It was helping Real Madrid snatch the La Liga crown back from Barcelona last season that saw many people claim Ronaldo would be a worthy winner of the award, but with Barcelona running away with the league this season, Ronaldo will have to shine in other competition namely the Champions League.

He has impressed already, with Sir Alex telling Inside United that maturity is bring out the best in the winger-cum-striker:

“Maturity brings many things, when I went to see them play against [Manchester] City, some of his decision-making in terms of passing was brilliant. One-touch passing, good crosses.

“In the six years we had him, you just saw his game grow all the time, and he was a fantastic player.

“Now you see the complete player.

“His decision-making, his maturity, his experience, plus all the great skills he has got, they all make him the complete player.”

Sir Alex also spoke on the prospect of facing Ronaldo’s Madrid claiming the stage has been set for a grand occasion:

“Obviously you hope that when you draw Real Madrid it’s in the final.

“It will be a big, big event – we’re the two most high-profile clubs in the world and I think they will be great games.”
