Is Sir Alex ready to bury the hatchet with the BBC?

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed he is ready to spend big this summer, but only if the right player is available.

Manchester United strolled to the Premier League title this summer, but as per usual the Manchester United boss will not be resting on his laurels, instead he will be looking to further increase the gap between his side and their rivals with summer signings.

In recent years Sir Alex has only spend big on young players with resale value, but he bucked this trend last summer with the £24m signing of Robin Van Persie.

With the success the Dutch striker brought, Sir Alex is willing to do this again as long as the right player comes about:

“I don’t think we need to rebuild at all.

“We possibly need two players. It depends. If a player came along who met our criteria we would push the boat out and get him, irrespective of how many players we have.”
