Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has urged Wayne Rooney to ‘see sense’ and remain at Old Trafford.
The striker asked for a move away from the club at the end of the season, but there have been no developments in the story since departed manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed the striker’s request.
Some papers believe David Moyes is hoping to keep the striker who he handed his debut as a 16 year old, and Robson thinks if the chance presents itself he should consider remaining at United.
Speaking after the Legends match at Old Trafford today, Robson told Sky Sports:
“There was a bit of a problem towards the end of the season with Wayne and Sir Alex, but I just hope Wayne sees sense.
“There’s no better club than this club and if David Moyes does say that he wants Wayne to stay, I’d love to see him playing for Manchester United again next season because he’s a great player.
“He’s a real asset to the club and I’d like to see him stay for many more years.”
I know that he is not guilty and Fergie as usual wanted to crucify him as he did with the likes of Becks and so on…
Cool ur head boy and work hard to regain ur fitness in order to embrace next season with vigor and pride. U don’t have to apologise to the fans as you’re not guilty and let the devil feel ashamed for his missed coup.

Fergie mismanaged Wayne.Using him as a midfielder only makes him look like an average player.Rooney is a special,arguably our best and most talented player.If Wazza had left i wouldn’t have forgiven Fergie.What amazes me is when i see those who claim to love man u wishing Rooney to leave.Rooney must stay.

The fact he’s the player I like most in man utd doesn’t mean y?? have to force him to play, if he’s not feeling confortable at our club… Let him leave, I will like him to stay though, its his choice
