As expected, FIFA 14 has been a smash with fans, shooting straight to the top of the gaming charts after being released on September 27th.

EA Sports pulled out all the stops in the build up to the game’s release as seen in their latest commercial where a number of recognisable faces came together to promote the game.

The star studded advert sees Barcelona maestro Lionel Messi driving a van through the desert before the likes of Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez, Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski, AC Milan’s Stephan El Shaarawy, New York Red Bull’s Tim Cahill and man of the moment and most expensive player in the world Gareth Bale pop up, showing off their skills on the game.

But it wasn’t only stars from the footballing world that were drafted in, as popular rapper Drake, who unveiled the game at gaming convention E3, also makes an appearance.

The 1 minute long clip gives fans a glimpse of what this year’s version has to offer, as you see Gareth Bale in the all white of Real Madrid curl a freekick in past El Shaarawy’s AC Milan.

The game itself is quite different to it’s predecessors and can take a little while to get used to, but once you do, you realise the changes that have been implemented are necessary to increase your enjoyment and improve your gaming experience. For example previously you could blaze past a team with a speedy striker, now said speedy striker who may have a poor first touch might not control the ball first time.
It appears that the game, as in real life, is trying to move away from that and more towards careful considered play.

Another plus is that Fifa has always been amazing aesthetically, and this game is no different. Serious attention has been paid not only to player’s looks, but also their mannerisms and celebrations.

On a whole the game is a massively enjoyable affair, and the fans seem to think so too, voting with their feet as they flocked to shops to make it the number one game in the country.

Whilst previously FIFA had competition, the game has blown it’s competitors away and now stands head and shoulders above the rest.
