A host of European clubs have been put on red alert as reports emerge that Germany international Marco Reus has declined a contract extension with current club Borussia Dortmund.
It is believed that Dortmund have offered Reus a deal worth €7m per season until 2019 – more than double what he is currently earning; however Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests the talented winger has declined the offer, which could spark a flurry of interest from the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
It has been widely reported that there is a clause in the player’s current contract meaning he can leave for €35m if an offer is made before 2015, with the current contract expiring in 2017.
Dortmund are said to be keen to tie Reus down to a long term deal which would also abolish the release clause meaning if a top European side were to come back with it bid, they could command a fee in the region of €70m.
Reus was unfortunate to miss the World Cup through injury following a very good season with Dortmund and coach Jurgen Klopp is believed to want to tie all of his prized assets into long term deals following the departure of Shinji Kagawa, Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze in recent seasons.
New United boss Louis Van Gaal is reported to be an admirer of Reus and would be interested in bringing the player to the club as part of the rebuilding programme at Old Trafford. It is believed Van Gaal is also interested in Dortmund’s central defender Mats Hummels.
Enough of e nonsense talk abt vidal cos he’s nt willing 2 join united. Pls LVG concentrate on the defence cos we’ve got enough quality for attack or else……..
This is not enough for perfect attack,still weakness.l think, we need di maria for sideattacking.He’s very specialist in there.And also,Marco reus,he’s magician in centre attack.lf we got these both,we can compare real madrid,munich as…But also weakness defendsive.Should sign Hummels and vermaelen.
I my opinion van gaal gna onli make defensive signings now he’s gna get vermaelan and try get hummels but vidal I think that’s all paper talk and we don’t need Di maria he’s PSG bound anyways we could do wid a fleet footed player marco Reus but he ain’t coming either we do need vidal and two centre backs but we ain’t gna get vidal which is dissapoijting.
Man Utd needs to sign players. We r considered to b one of the top club in f world, but if u see the quality of players we r damn weak. Look at clubs like Bayern, real, barca, psg, Chelsea, man city.. They have good players.
man Utd needs to sign this five players to bring the quality to get compared with this top clubs. Five players include hummels, blind, Vidal, di Maria and Reus.. Man Utd have got the funds. They should act fast and convince this players to join Utd. Otherwise with current squad Utd wont b able to hold its last years standings also.
