Wayne Rooney vs Swansea

The Manchester Derby is set to take place this upcoming Sunday as Manchester City will go into Old Trafford looking to defeat their cross town rivals, Manchester United.

Both teams are sitting on opposite ends of the footballing spectrum. City are coming off of a bitter loss to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. The Blues have not played well for quite a while, as they have been defeated in four of their last six league matches. They have looked complacent, out of sorts, and just plain bad over the past six league games.

Meanwhile, United are thriving. Coming off of three straight victories, including a pivotal win against Liverpool, the Red Devils are playing with scary confidence. An in-form United team have now leapfrogged an out of form City squad in the Premier League standings.

Despite their recent struggles, the boys in Blue have owned the Red Devils in recent years. United have not beaten City in over two years and The Blues have emerged victorious in the last four derbies.

Of course, none of these statistics matter come game-time. Surely City will ooze confidence given their recent success against United, but the Red Devils will be also be puffing their chests after taking their last three matches.

Rest assured, this year’s Manchester derby looks to be one of the more exciting football games of the year.
