Manchester United are rumoured to have substantial interest in aquiring Galatasaray’s Wesley Sneijder, according to the Metro.

While this rumour seems to pop up almost every year, this year’s edition of ‘Wesley Sneijder to United’ rumour may be legit. Word is that Sneijder is seriously considering a move back to one of the dominant European teams next year after playing the past few years in Turkey. United are reportedly in the drivers seat to capturing Sneijder’s signiture.

United manager, and fellow Dutch native, Louis Van Gaal has always had an affinity for Sneijder. The 30-year-old midfielder, known by his teammates as “The Sniper” for his pinpoint passing and striking, has never had a problem capturing Van Gaal’s interest. Just a few months ago, United were targeting Sneijder during the January transfer window.

While Van Gaal would love to add the Dutch playmaker to his midfield, Sneijder is reportedly being eyed by other clubs as well, with PSG posing as United’s biggest competition in signing the player.

Sneijder has notched 32 goals in 92 matches for his current Turkish club.
