Manchester United have decided to let Radamel Falcao return to Monaco after a season where the South American scored just four goals in 29 appearances at Old Trafford.

The move to let Falcao walk is hardly surprising as Louis Van Gaal has voiced his displeasure with the attacker all season long.

The Colombian endured a highly disappointing campaign after being loaned from Monaco to United prior to this year’s fixture.

The “steal of the summer”, or so United fans thought, ended up being a huge failure for the Reds. Falcao had a difficult time getting comfortable under Louis Van Gaal, having failed to net a goal since January 31st.

Injuries and lack of production scarred Falcao’s season and he will now return to Monaco where he will try to find the form that made him one of the better players in the world.

Speaking to the club’s website, United Boss Van Gaal said,

“Falcao is a top professional and a good human being. I would like to wish him well for the future.”
