Well it was never going to be good news, you could tell by the way he went down but Sky are reporting that Wayne Rooney is set to miss 2-4 weeks with a sprained ankle.
Although it could be worse, it is a massive blow as he will miss games against Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Blackburn with the games against Man City and Tottenham in the balance.
That leaves just the games against Stoke and Sunderland in the title run in for him to help secure a 4th league title and regain match sharpness for this summer’s World Cup.
