After years in the game, Sir Bobby Charlton is still giving to football so it is good to see his work rewarded.

In the first ever conference held outside Barcelona, the European Former Players Association (EFPA) will present Sir Bobby with it’s first ever lifetime achievement award next Thursday in Liverpool.

President of the EFPA, Ramon Alfonsedo was full of praise for Sir Bobby when he said,

“Throughout football he is truly admired for his achievements as a footballer, and his professionalism, chivalry and outstanding contribution to the game. If anyone symbolised the values of EFPA, it can be summed up in the two words known by every football fan in the world – Bobby Charlton.”

As well as a conference there will also be a legends 6 a side tournament featuring the likes of Gheorghe Hagi, Michael Laudrup and Paolo di Canio.
