Silly Season: Transfer round up

It’s obvious Manchester United are in need of reinforcements next season and it seems the papers are capitalising on this, doing our shopping for by linking us with every Tom, Dick and Harry about so here are some of the best rumours from what is quite a lively day for United rumours.

Various English papers are reporting that we have made Luka Modric their top target and are preparing a £25million bid. Modric has been linked with us quite a bit and in last week’s match day programme Sir Alex claimed he was one of his favourite ‘small men’ in the game.

Florent Malouda has done well this season, so why not run and grab the ‘new’ one? The Mirror claims that we are looking at Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux. The 23 year old already has 8 goals this season from the wing.

We are lining up a move for Borrusia Dortmund’s highly rated centre back Neven Subotic. The 21 year old Serb has drawn the likely comparisons with country man and fellow United player Nemanja Vidic but is said to have more pace about his game. A fee of €20m has been mentioned in German paper Bild.

The MEN claims we are compiling a dossier on 21 year old Panathinaikos midfielder Sotiris Ninis. The attacking midfielder is now captain of his club and although preferring to be utilised as a play maker can also play on the right side of midfield.

Spanish rag Marca have us down for a move for Real Madrid’s Lassana Diarra. The midfielder would provide some presence in the middle of the park for us(although it’s a creative midfielder we need) . A fee of £17m  was stated in the piece for the player who has seen his place come under threat after Real Madrid splashed the cash last summer.

Diarra definitely will be the one i am not looking forward to.former pompey, rent boy proved again and again that he’s not good enough for the league even though he was hailed as the new Makelele by the media.Madrid is definitely looking to off load many of their sub standards and United is not the place for it.

subotic and Kjaer would solve defencive probs for UNITED.
    Benzema would solve forward problems.
and we acn sell Carrick Neville Brown M Owen Hargarves and bring in 3 or 4 of our reserve team who I think are goog enough eg De Laet Pogba Possidon

What defensive problems? Only problem we had this season was 7 defenders injured at the same time. And if you haven’t noticed, we’ve already bought a centre-back. And a forward.
Only major reinforcement needed would be an attacking midfielder, and at some point a great ‘keeper.
    Oh, and we’re skint.

why would we sell hargreaves after waiting on him for nearly 2 years to get fit to play our under 18′s? I agree with bjorn we need a creative attacking mid (modric) and a gk (lloris). We will have michael owen, hargreaves, rooney, anderson and welbeck back we should be able to cope.

Why Lloris he would cost us a bomb we have more chances of signing Akinfeev :P and yes we need a decent RB who can play well like Rafael getting forward and tracking back to help out at the back.

Pogba aint proved himself for the first team and hes only 17/18 so hes not going to be brang into the team yet so doubt if he get brang into the team next season.

I can see where Mr. E is coming from Ferdinand is 32 and can barely play a half season with out getting his constant back problem and with no disrespect to Smalling but he aint good enough to play regular football in the premier league next season we need a more experienced CB like Subotic

I was a big akinfeev fan but he had a few inconsistent games this season which all keepers will have but it just makes me lean in a different direction, though i would be happy with akinfeev, neuer, etc im not sure how many of those keepers would want to wait while VDS is still around. I would not be surprised if we do not sign a big name keeper but i think its better to take care of it now than be worrying about it mid season.
