Has anyone else watched those highlights and conceeded that Magnius Eirkem is very much in the Scholes mould.
He loved playing that ‘quarterback’ type role. Playing deep and spraying passes around both short and long out wide to the wingers.
I was very impressed

Oh and Rio’s little run down the right flank at around the 10 min mark was impressive. He looked great.

It was a great strike, a couple people at the game told me he was quiet for the majority of the game though same against Arsenal a week or 2 ago.
I think the Noggies see Eikrem more as an Iniesta than a Scholes. I love him as a player, been following him for a while and did a write up on him last year for Football Fancast.
Wish he had gone on loan to Rangers as he is too good for reserve football IMO

Let’s hope Eikrem gets some first team football this season.. In my eyes we got too many great young central midfielders.. I mean, gibson, Anderson, Eikrem, James, Pogba, Norwood & Drinkwater.. I mean, at most two of these great talents will be given a shot to shine.. I’d say James and Eikrem breaks into the first team next season or the season after that.. Luxury problems though!

Pogba was unlucky with his injury but I agree at least one of them needs to make the jump.
Drinkwater and James have been impressing in the Championship, Norwood is already an international so the talent is there, just need a chance.

@Jonte, I think we’ve got a wealth of midfield ‘potential’ rather than great young midfielders. I don’t think Gibson, James or Drinkwater will make it but I really love Eikrem, Pogba (gutted about his knee), Anderson and Cleverly.
I think Eikrem will get a Carlin Cup game this season and be on the fringes of the first team next season or loaned out.
He’ll be next season’s Cleverly.
