After a some what sluggish start to the game United ran out 4-0 winners against a spirited but over matched Wigan side.

Hernandez opened the scoring meeting Nani’s cross at the front post but the 1-0 lead was a delicate one as Van Der Sar and Vidic were both in imperious form and conspired to keep the Latics at bay.

Nani went close himself and hit the post but wasn’t to get on the scoresheet as in the second half another goal from Hernandez, a tap in from Rooney (following an excellent ball from Gibson to release Berba who unselfishly laid the ball off for his strike partner and a goal from substitute Fabio who met Darren Fletcher’s ball at the back post saw United extend what was a 1 point lead before the start of play to 4 points.

With this tough run of games coming up any barrier between us and Arsenal is welcomed and the 4 goal victory will also be a massive boost for our the confidence as we have been poor on the road this season.

I dare someone to talk shite about Gibson. There is a reason why Fergie has played him 3x in 2 weeks.
