Despite his tender age Gerard Pique, has seen and won a lot in football.
A 3 time Champions League winner having worked under two of the game’s top managers, the Spanish defender is comfortably regarded as one of the world’s best center backs and he himself has said previously his time at Old Trafford helped him get to where he is.
The Barcelona defender spent 4 seasons at United before returning back to the Catalan club and his spell in England was a real eye opener as he worked with Sir Alex Ferguson, a man he attributes much of United’s success to.
“I have never seen anything like this in Spain.
“I was with him for a few years and know why he is there.
“He is a great coach but he also treats the players really well. It is not only in terms of football. No matter what it is, he will be there for you.
“He has won so many titles and so many important things.
“All the Manchester United fans are really happy that he has stayed because they never won as much as they do now.
“Most of the is because of him and I hope he stays for many years yet.”
Pique has always had good things to say about United, his time here and Sir Alex and it’s good to see this hasn’t changed.
