Although hanging up his boots, Paul Scholes showed he still has it in his locker last night as United came up trumps against an all star New York Cosmos side.
Old Trafford was rocking as Scholes said farewell and he made sure he did as he intended – gave us great memories – by scoring a cracker to open the scoring.
Further goals from Rooney, Anderson, Welbeck and two from Diouf completed the scoring but the night was all about Scholes who continued to display his tidy touches and excellent passing range leading the crowd to jovially sing’Fergie, sign him up. Fergie Fergie sign him up!’
Th night was a brilliant goodbye to Scholes and with the likes of Giggs, Neville, Butt and co to share in the moment I’m sure he will have enjoyed it too.
