Cometh the hour, cometh the man and all that!

United are known for writing fairytale endings and today was no different. With Ryan Giggs making his 900th appearance for the club, how remarkable is it that he popped up to rescue us?

United took the lead early on when another elder statesman in Paul Scholes nodded home from close range but we seemed to be in cruise control after that and a number of bright moments form David De Gea kept us in the lead.

How long could this last though? Sitting on a 1-0 lead is one of football’s biggest no nos and it appeared we would be punished for doing so when Grant Holt levelled for Norwich late on, but in extra time Giggs popped up to tap in from close range and give United all the points.

United have been coasting for the last 3 games now, showing no urgency and generally faffing about and whilst we lost on Thursday we were luck to still advance in the Europa League, today was different and we almost allowed City to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Hopefully this was the wake up call we needed!
