Shinji Kagawa has completed his move to Manchester United after passing a medical and obtaining a work permit.

United announced a deal to sign Kagawa had been reached with Borussia Dortmund at the start of the month, but with Kagawa on international duty and him needing to obtain a work permit, the deal has only been completed today.

Kagawa completed his medical this morning at the Bridgewater Hospital to seal the deal and the signing has delighted manager Sir Alex who said:

“He’s an exciting young midfielder with great skill, vision and a good eye for goal. I’m delighted he’s chosen to come.

“I believe he’ll make an impact on the team very quickly as he’s suited to our style of play-we’re looking forward to working with him”

Kagawa will get straight to work with United after the Japanese FA confirmed he would be omitted from their Olympic team and the 23 year old is looking forward to life at Old Trafford:

“This is a challenge I’m really looking forward to. The Premier League is the best in the world and United is such a massive club.

“This is a really exciting time for me and I can’t wait to meet the team and start playing.”

    Welcome Home son

Good stuff, now lets sign Luka Modric and James Rodriguez. It will be hard, and there’s competition from other clubs, but we have to make a big big effort. I would also like to see either Mathieu Debuchy or Vasilis Torosidis sign as well. They would cost in the region on £6-7 million and they would add versatility to the defence.

I agree with John, but I think Modric will be signing for Real Madrid. Man Utd are struggling to attract the top players these days.

Its does look like Modric is joining Madrid which is a big blow to be honest. I think Kagawa was a very good signing and the type of player we needed. I still feel we need another midfielder. I think Ferguson should move now try and sign Axel Witsel. He is a quality player and could form a good partnership alongside Tom Cleverley next season.

If we don’t sign Luka Modric then maybe we should go for Axel Witsel as suggested above. Witsel is a very athletic and skilful young midfielder. I wouldn’t say he is similar to Modric in anyway. Modric is more technical and controls the game. Witsel is a bit more box to box. Tom Cleverley could benefit from playing alongside someone like Wistel and they could form a really good partnership.
