Shinji Kagawa continues to impress his Manchester United team mates following his move from Dortmund, and having earned praise from Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes has now talked up the Japanese midfielder.

Kagawa has made his first 3 appearances for United whilst on preseason tour in South Africa and China, and his performances have left many optimistic about the upcoming season.

A fast learner, Sir Alex praised how quick Kagawa is picking up new things in training, and it was also on the training field that Kagawa caught the eye of United legend Paul Scholes.

The Japanese midfielder has impressed Scholes with his technical ability, and Scholes is certain that he will play a part in United upping their goal output as he told The People:

“He looks brilliant. I’ve only been in training with him for a couple of weeks but he’s very good technically and you can see the talent he’s got already.

“He’s had a couple of great years at Dortmund and I think he has been player of the year in Germany – that tells you he’s a top player.

“He will bring goals to the team, whether he’s scoring them or making them. He’s got great movement and is very clever in the runs he makes.

“It’s difficult to say which foot is his best. He’s equal with right and left. He’s a good lad. He doesn’t speak much English yet, but I am sure he will be very popular here.”
