Zenit St Petersburg are set to launch an audacious bid to sign Nani from Manchester United after manager Luciano Spalletti confirmed his interest in the winger.
Nani is yet to sign a new deal with Manchester United and spoke on potentially moving away from Old Trafford at the start of the summer, but whilst most would have thought Spain or even Italy would have been his likely destination, the Russian side are ready to swoop for the Portuguese star.
The Daily Mail have quoted Spalletti as saying:
“The news about Nani is true, everything will depend on how much players cost because we won’t pay excessive amounts of money.”
Despite their interest, it is unlikely that Nani will head to the current Russian champions. Having stated that he feels he is on the cusp of becoming one of the world’s best players, Nani would undoubtedly want a bigger stage than the Russian league to prove this.

SAF will be out of his mind if he should sell nani, isn’t it just obvious the has improved, look @ his perfomance @ the Euro 2012 and our pre-season games,he was excellent, aside that we need dept in our team to contend in all fronts,if SAF is going 2 sell anyone…he should sell young,to me he is useless and surplus 2 requirement, nani is our best winger,we need his skills to move forward. Don’t do what will hurts the fans,we deserve better,my advice is you shouldn’t sell him, extend his contract

Valencia and Young are much better than Nani. Showboating doesnt win league titles, and Nani is often confused with Ronaldo – Nani is NOT Ronaldo, never will be. If we get 25 million bid and hes not signign a new deal, then get rid and good riddance. We can put that money towards another top top level player

I would want at least £30-35 million for him. He is a quality player on his day but there isn’t enough of them performances. I could see him go to Zenit because they have other Portugal players and pay strong salaries. Ferguson might feel selling him will free up cash for a left back and maybe Moussa Dembele. It could also free up a space for next summer to go for James Rodriguez.

Nani made very little contribution last season. His problem is his inconsistency and his lack of versatility. He can only play really well at right wing and he needs long runs in the team to be at his best (like when Valencia was injured).
Nani is too good to just be a squad player but he’s not as reliable as Valencia in his chosen position. So I could understand if we sold him.

It will be so ridiculous to sell the only player who represents united in a european game. Nani is simply an extremely gifted player. He just needs to be serious minded. He is our best winger but valencia assists more.

Only Tommo seems be an actual United fan. Nani is a luxury player, he isn’t a shoe in for the starting XI and if we can get a massive sum of money for him then we should sell. I like Nani, he’s a potentially great player, however he is inconsistent and if we got £40M I would sell. He’ll be 26 this season and he’s still not fully developed, if we used the money to bring in a world class central midfielder, I think that would improve us as a squad. I mean Young is a head of Nani in the pecking order any way, Kagawa can play left wing, so can RVP, Giggs, Welbeck, Brady Etc. It’s all about the transfer fee and who we can bring in, if neither of them appeal to us then we won’t sell. The player is seemingly happy and the club don’t seem to be interested in selling at the moment, so far now it is a pointless topic.
