Manchester United have suffered another injury set back, after Sir Alex Ferguson revealed Nemanja Vidic would be out until Christmas.

Vidic returned from an injury to the cruciate ligaments in his right knee in August, and in September under went meniscus surgery on the same knee. Whilst the two injuries are unconnected, it is worrying that initially 8 week prognosis has now been extended to the holiday period.

Speaking to MUTV, Sir Alex said:

“I think we’re talking around December for Vidic. Maybe around Christmas time.”

Defensive injuries have hampered United’s efforts this season, with all of United’s first team center backs being injured at some point.

Whilst Phil Jones is on his way to returning to first team action, Chris Smalling has started training with the first team and could be back as early as next week.

This is the end of Vidic missing over a year know and over 30 it’d be an amazing feat if he could become him old self again.

Sad to say but it is possible, to have such an injury at his age will always be able to over come
