Often described as the ‘Pride Of Manchester’, die hard Man City fan returns to the ring next Saturday for his first fight in 3 years.

It’s been a long path back for Hatton, who suffered from depression and turned to drugs after being knocked out by Manny Pacquiao in May 2009. But on the 24th at the Manchester Arena, he will hope to restore some pride when he faces former world champion .

And whilst Senchenko hopes to ruin Hatton’s homecoming to boost his own chances of another world title fight, he has extra incentive. Senchenko is a United fan.

The Ukrainian hopes to be the first leg in a double, with him triumphing over Hatton then Sir Alex’s side emerging victorious this season and reclaiming the title they lost so dramatically on the last day of the season to Man City:

“I’m a big United fan.

“On top of our boxing rivalry in the ring, we will be supporting two different clubs.

“Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney are my favourite players and Ryan Giggs is the history of United. Sir Alex Ferguson is the greatest. I think United will win the title again.”

Whilst he is hoping for United to pick up title number 20 in May, he is focused on matters at hand:

“I intend to upset Ricky’s dream of winning another world title.”
