Manchester United travel to Carrow Road for tomorrow evening’s game with slight concerns over Wayne Rooney although Robin Van Persie has been deemed fit to face the Canaries.

Van Persie pulled out of Holland’s game with Germany this week with a thigh complaint but appears to have recovered in ime for the game, although United could miss Wayne Rooney who took a knock to his ankle against Aston Villa and Jonny Evans who is still nursing a hamstring injury from the Braga game.

Whilst he won’t appear against Norwich, Phil Jones is finally ready to return and will travel to Turkey for Tuesday’s game against Galatasaray.

Speaking at his press conference Sir Alex said:

“We still have some doubts about Wayne and Evans. Robin should be fit. We’ll see what they’re like today. Jones has been training all week and we will take him to Turkey with us. Chicharito should start tomorrow.”

Following last weekend’s nervy performance against Aston Villa, Sir Alex had this to say about defending and conceeding early goals:

“After last Saturday’s experience we don’t want to concede two goals. The fact we have players to change the course of the game has been a big advantage. Bringing Chicharito on was good for us.

“Hopefully we are going to defend better. It’s frustrating there is no consistent theme to what is happening defensively. We have players who can change the course of the game and we have a scoring threat. But we can’t continue to give teams a headstart.”

I hope we put a strong team out tomorrow and then rest everyone for the Turkey trip. There is no point making some players travel to Turkey. Van Persie will hopefully start tomorrow alongside Hernandez. I would expect Van Persie to remain home this week, alongside Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Valencia and Scholes. We should also give Rafeal a break. If Rooney has a knock then he should just rest as well and get ready for QPR.

    Team against Norwich:

    ……………..Dea Gea……………

    Rafeal…..Ferdinand…..Evans…..Evra

    Valencia….Scholes…Carrick….Young

    ………Van Persie….Hernandez…….

    Team against Galatasaray:

    …………….Lindegaard…………

    Vermijl….Smalling…..Jones….Buttner

    ……………..Fletcher……………

    Nani……Cleverley….Anderson….Giggs

    ……………..Welbeck…………….

The remaining two CL games gives the manager the perfect chance to get some players match fitness. Jones and Smalling in particular will benefit from those games. Anderson is another player who needs matches to build up his fitness. Maybe for once we will can have a fully fit Anderson going into the second half of the season.

It also gives us a chance to play Marnick Vermijl at right back. The lad is promising and was unlucky not to play against Chelsea after his Newcastle performance. I think for that reason Ferguson will play him in Turkey. We need another right back to cover and challenge Rafeal.

We should also take other promising youngsters like Angelo Henriquez and give him a debut. He is a promising striker and hopefully he get a chance of the bench, before possibly starting against Cluj. We should also take Wootton, Cole, Tunnclife, Johnstone and Petrucci.

Adam…..you forgot about Nick Powell. The lad has real talent and he needs to play matches. I want him to start in Turkey and against Cluj. I agree that Ferdinand, Evra, Van Persie, Valencia and Carrick shouldn’t travel to Turkey.
