Whilst maintaining that there will always be a place for Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford, Sir Alex has revealed that it is unlikely that he will be bringing the Portuguese star back as he is ‘unbuyable’.

Sir Alex allowed Ronaldo to leave for Real Madrid in 2009 for a world record £80m and since then Ronaldo has gone from strength to strength. Helping Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho finally break Barcelona’s monopoly on the title Ronaldo’s value will have undoubtedly soared since his departure.

There have been numerous instances where Ronaldo has been said to be unhappy about his time in Spain and would even consider a return to Manchester but Sir Alex doesn’t believe he would have the funds available to bring the 27 year old back:

“I’d like to think it would be but I don’t think it will happen.

“You’re talking about incredible amounts of money now.

“What would you think his value would be? He’s definitely unbuyable.

“Who could afford to buy him?

“There’s talk of the Russians, perhaps. But do you think he would go to Russia?

“He complained about the weather here, let alone the middle of winter in Russia.

“He was definitely good value for Madrid but he always wanted to play for them, it was his boyhood dream.”

I’m of the belief you should never go back, as Dalglish was only too willing to prove last year.

He may go to Italy and then on to the MLS or China. Good luck to him.
