Having finally shaken off a lingering knee injury, Manchester United’s is looking forward to pushing on this season.

Cole was a mainstay for the reserves last term but suffered with injuries as the season drew to an end.

The 19 year old was as unused sub in yesterday’s Galatasaray game, called up after some solid performances for the u21s this term and feels now he is injury free he can really help United as they look to capture the inaugural u21 Premier League title:

“I’m just aiming to get a good run of form going and to stay fit.

“I had a knee injury towards the end of last season that carried on into this campaign. I was still feeling it in training and so I missed out on the tour, which was unfortunate and a shame because it would have been a great experience.

“So I want to keep my form and consistency going. I’ve had a year in the Reserves last season but the Under-21 league is still physical and competitive. We’re coming up against men and a lot of players who have experience of the Premier League. Therefore, it’s always difficult and you have to step your game up as we’re often playing against a strong team.”

It would be nice if we could start producing our own special players, rather than being linked with players like Wilfred Zaha and Tom Ince. I mean Nick Powell is a bit special but we had to buy him. Ferguson should look at this a bit more. We produce good players but no one really special who will make the Old Trafford crowd rise up. Welbeck and Clelverley are terrific and they should improve.

However I want to see a really special player come through, like a Giggs.
