Anders Lindegaard: A quiet game for Lindegaard, who was apparently preferred to De Gea. His kicking was errant as ever and perhaps could have done better with Mackie’s goal. 6

Rafael: Defended competently as the tricky Tarabt tried to bring QPR on, but it was getting forward that the Brazilian shone putting some threatening crosses into QPR’s box. 7

Rio Ferdinand: Was poor early on with wayward passing and a slip almost allowed QPR in, but as the game wore on he got better and better. Drove forward late on with purpose, pulled out the skills and had the fans chanting his name! 6

Jonny Evans: Like Rio took time to get into the game but when he did he put in a shift dealing with Cisse. Got yet another goal as United came back from a goal down. 7

Patrice Evra: QPR found space down United’s left with M’bia marauding forward but Evra stood up to this. Enjoyed getting forward, and it was in this capacity he brought United on as they overwhelmed QPR. 7

Paul Scholes: Whilst it was in substituting him and Ashley Young that United got back into the game, Scholes still contributed. The midfielder wasn’t afraid to get stuck in and winning the ball back from QPR in one of his quieter performances.6

Darren Fletcher: Starting his first Premier League game since returning from his bowel condition, it was only right that Fletcher found himself on the scoresheet. His header put United in the lead and capped a decent performance where he added composure in the middle of the pitch. 6

Danny Welbeck: In a game where very little came off for the striker, it continues to frustrate to see Welbeck stuck out wide. He looked to have over run the ball but managed to cut the ball back for a Van Persie chance but on a whole this was one of his poorer performances. 5

Ashley Young: Put on the right in Valencia’s absence and unlike last week against Norwich didn’t do enough to show he deserves that role. QPR fans hounded him ceaselessly and this increased when he wasn’t awarded a penalty despite being fouled by Clint Hill, because if it isn’t a penalty according to the Rangers fans it was a dive. 5

Wayne Rooney: Got an assist to his name and saw Julio Cesar save a rasping shot in the first half as he returned to the first team. Got about and showed an energy that was missing from our lethargic display last weekend. 6

Robin Van Persie: Whilst the goals aren’t coming, RVP is still an integral part of the team due to the work he does in and around the box. Missed a number of chances including seeing a shot that was on it’s way over deflected out for a corner late on. 6

Subs

Anderson: The Brazilian’s introduction in the second half for Paul Scholes was the turning point for United, as he got on the ball and tried to get things going. He always showed for the ball and used it positively when he had it, something not all of our players can say they did. He burst forward and played a perfect pass to Javier Hernandez for United’s 3rd. 7

Javier Hernandez: Added another goal to his tally to take his return to 9 this season, and added further credibility to his super sub tag. Whilst he scores goals, Hernandez’s game has improved immensely and he impressed in his cameo yesterday beyond the goal. 7

Nick Powell: A decent showing from the youngster who makes the game look effortless. A cheeky run where he made mugs of a number of QPR players was the highlight of his brief showing. 6

Poor play from man united midfield point of view as scholes is becoming old

  4. Bulletproof says:

Man united needs to adapt e diamond formation with anderson, cleverly at e base n rooney at e tip while persie n chicharito upfront since our wingers r becoming useless

Why is Scholes still an option? He is way past his experation date and should never be used infront of Ando,Cleverly and Powell. He also gave QPR time by slowing down the attack.

  7. Chudi says:

@Emmy & Brownp Scholes didn’t have his most productive game in terms of offence but he made numerous interceptions, recovering tackles and generally put himself about to ensure that QPR had no say in the game.

Young performance was very poor and so we need to start looking at adopting the diamond formation. Scholes is a classy player but his legs have gone now and in the Premier League he is finished. We have to start adapting to having Cleverley and Anderson in the midfield. We need more energy and tempo and only these two can provide it now.
