According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United are set to be boosted by the return of club captain Nemanja Vidic from a knee injury.

Vidic has been out since September after undergoing surgery on his meniscus, but the paper claims Vidic is back in full training and could be back in a fortnight.

Sir Alex Ferguson claimed that the center back would be back around Christmas, but one has to question the decision to drop the Serbian right back into the first team as the fixtures come thick and fast over the Christmas period.

With Ferdinand, Smalling, Jones and Evans all available United can take time with Vidic as it was felt that he was somewhat rushed returning to action from a cruciate ligament injury at the start of this season.
