Having been named player of the month for December, Robin Van Persie has hailed the fans for helping him settle in at the club.
Van Persie has found the net 20 times for United already this season, helping United into the knockout stages of the Champions League as well as open a 7 point lead at the top of the Premier League.
The Dutchman scored 5 goals in 6 games, including the winner in the last minute of the Manchester Derby, to secure 58% of the vote and Van Persie has no plans on easing up as he told ManUtd.Com:
“It’s always nice to be recognised by the fans.
“I have settled into the club quite quickly and I am really enjoying playing in this team. I would like to thank the fans for all their support.
“It’s not all about scoring goals, but obviously that does help. It’s great that so many players have scored goals over the season so far.
“December is always a difficult month and I feel we have come through this period as we wanted to and hopefully we can now push on for the rest of the season.”
