Michael Keane has been impressing in his brief time at Leicester, so much so that a team mate has stated the 20 year old is one of the best he has seen!
Keane headed to the King Power Stadium in November, and today extended his deal to the end of the season. Initially he found games hard to come by but since the turn of the year has found himself a frequent member of Nigel Pearson’s side, helping the Foxes keep 3 clean sheets in 4 games this month.
Former Liverpool defender Paul Konchesky, has been blown away by the young defender and rates him as one of the best young defenders he has seen.
Praising Keane’s composure and ability on the ball especially, Konchesky feels he has what it takes to go all the way to the top:
“He is one of the best I have seen for how old he is.
“He has trained at Manchester United every day, so he has had a good education, and got experience from the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, and that has to be fantastic for him.
“Hopefully, he can get better and better.
“He is very composed on the ball and he is one of those defenders who likes to play, not just defend.
“It is a big part of his game, to come out with the ball and set things moving.
“These days, that is very important for defenders. There are a lot of players who want to play and it starts from the goalkeeper and the back four.”
