Sir Alex is looking forward to getting his hands on the title again

Having spoken of breaking Chelsea’s record 95 point haul to win the league, Sir Alex Ferguson says he will take it anyway it comes.

United lost the league on goal difference last season, despite it looking like a record 20th title was on it ways to Old Trafford. A last gasp goal from Man City’s Sergio Aguero saw City crowned champions, and Sir Alex is relishing taking the title back from his cross city rivals.

15 points clear at the top of the table, United are heavy favourites to lift the trophy come May, but despite the points difference Sir Alex is taking nothing for granted and says he isn’t fussed how he wins, he just wants to win it.

“I don’t care what I win it by, it could be a dodgy goal off someone’s backside in the last minute of the last game of the season. It doesn’t bother me one bit. Winning the league is the issue.

“These things are hard to take. For about 20 seconds we thought we had won it and it was snatched away from us. But what we have done well this season is dusted ourselves down and made a real good challenge of the league.

“The concentration levels, the commitment of the players and the team spirit have been fantastic. In that respect we have answered the only way we can.”
