A Croatian news portal has claimed that Luka Modric is ready to move to Old Trafford, and has told teammates that he will go if the clubs reach an agreement.
Manchester United’s interest in Modric is no secret and the club had been looking at the former Spurs player before he joined Real Madrid last summer. Their failure to secure his signature proved costly as he went on to score the winner when United met the Spanish side in the Champions League that season.
Carlo Ancelotti rubbished claims that the midfielder could be leaving the Bernabeu this summer, and it looks even less likely now Xabi Alonso has been ruled out for up to 3 months with a broken metatarsal but if the report from Jutarnji.hr is to be believed there is still a chance that United can snap up the player.
Modric is believed to have said:
“If the clubs agree, I am ready to come to Manchester United.”
The report claims that €30m will see United secure his signature but the fact that the comment was made to an “unnamed international teammate” means that the credibility of the claims are in question.
