Valencia star and Manchester United target David Silva is open to a move to Old Trafford according to the Daily Express.

The Spanish international is quoted by the paper as saying,

“When you hear a club like Manchester United is interested in you it is an honour, I am very aware of the Premier League, and in recent years it has been the stand-out league in the world.

“If it came calling, especially if it was a club like Manchester United, it would be very hard to resist. I am happy at Valencia but every player has his price and if they get an offer they think is good business anything is possible.”

United have been linked with Silva previously and are in the market for a creative midfielder. David Gill has promised Sir Alex Ferguson a sizable war chest to bring in reinforcements this summer and with Silva open to the move United could test Valencia’s resolve with a bid.

We should try and sign David Silva this summer. I had my doubts before over whether he could make it in England. However the success of Luka Modric has convinced me Silva can play in the Premiership. I also hope Ferguson will sign Milos Krasic. I think Silva and Krasic would improve our team greatly and add more creativity and goals. Ferguson likes to play Rooney upfront alone and its a role he has done well in. If we play that formation then we need more intelligent midfielders. Silva and Krasic come under that category. They are both flexible and can play in the middle or on the wings. If we could get these two in then we should sell Anderson and Carrick.

I wouldn’t sell Anderson and Krasic is primarily a right winger a position occupied by Valencia. I think Valencia has done well this season so I don’t think he will just be disregarded in favour of someone else.

    Chudi,

Where would you play Silva? I’m assuming you wouldn’t want to displace Nani or Valencia. That being said, he’s such a proven talent and it would be hard to turn him down if he’s interested.

Personally I’d play him behind the striker if I’m not mistaen he is employed in a similar role at Valencia
