It’s been a busy couple of days at Old Trafford.

Yesterday saw Chris Smalling and Javier Hernandez officially become United players and the pace hasn’t slowed down today either.

Matty James has again gone on loan to Preston for season. The midfielder impressed last term in his 18 appearances at the Deepdale and Darren Ferguson was pushing to take the youngster back on loan for this season. It looked touch and go when it appeared that Preston would be wound up but apparently that wasn’t the case. Just remains to be seen if Welbeck follows him.

Academy goalkeeper Conor Devlin and forward John Cofie (like the drink, only not spelt the same *gets coat*) have both signed pro forms with the club. Devlin made 20 appearances for the academy last season whilst Cofie made 25 appearances for the academy scoring 6 times as well as 2 sub appearances for the reserves.

Cofie’s signing is especially interesting as there was talk that Liverpool were trying to snap him up towards the tail end of last season. It was thought he was on his way to Anfield 2 years ago but we moved in quickly to pick him up from Burnley.

Another player to sign pro forms is Marnick Vermijl. Signed from Standard Liege in March, the Belgian full back is officially a United player. Details were sketchy when we first signed him and some actually doubted the authenticity of the deal but it has been confirmed by the club today.
